Collection contains correspondence (1928-1971) inlcuding love letters to his wife Mary during the late 1920s, letters written by Louis to Mary while she was in a mental institution from 1947-1948 and photocopies of letters from John Steinbeck; transcript of an interview with Paul (1950); photographs (1904-1953); poetry and popular music scores written by Louis and Mary Paul; research notes on the works of John Steinbeck; and the manuscripts for many of his short stories.
